Nail Hair is applied by attaching small keratin bonds around your own strands with a gentle heat tool. The method gives a secure, permanent hair extension that stays firmly in place around the clock.
The hair is 100% real human hair and the bonds are made of keratin, a protein that already occurs naturally in hair. That makes the extension look entirely genuine and minimises wear on your own strands.
You can use heat tools on the real hair to adapt your styling and shape the curls as you wish. Be very careful never to apply direct heat to the keratin bonds themselves, as they can melt.
The keratin bonds can easily be cut in half by your hairdresser to create even smaller and lighter bonds. That makes the method safe and gentle for finer hair types too, provided your scalp is healthy.
For a full extension we recommend 100 to 140 strands, entirely depending on the thickness of your natural hair, and 160 to 200 strands with thicker hair, a short cut or a length of 60 to 70 cm. If you only want extra volume, 40 to 80 strands is usually enough, and 20 to 40 for a few accent strands. The strands are sold in packs of 20 and one strand weighs one gram.
For a seamless transition, match the colour of the hair primarily to the tone of your own ends and lengths. Mixing two neighbouring shades at application is also an excellent way to create an extra lively and natural result.
Because the hair is of real quality it can technically be toned darker to match your own shade perfectly. We strongly advise against bleaching of any kind, however, and all chemical treatment is at your own risk as it can shorten the lifespan of the hair.
With the right care an application usually lasts three to four months before it is time to remove or re-bond it. To keep the curly structure and soft quality for a long time it is important to follow our moisture routines carefully.
The difference from our straight or wavy Nail Hair is the dense curl pattern, which gives maximum volume and intense texture straight away. Compared with Tape Hair this method gives small bonds that make advanced updos easier without risking that they show.
Before bed, separate the hair carefully with your fingers or a wide-tooth comb to avoid tangles near the scalp. Then braid it in one or two loose braids to protect both the bonds and the shape of the curls through the night.
