Full Weave hårförlängning - Fairwithhair

A full weave, also called a weave with leave out or simply a weave, is the most widely used protective hair extension method. Most of your own hair is braided down and covered with extensions – only the hair right at the front by your forehead, where your parting sits, is left out.

How a full weave works

We braid your own hair in even rows close to the scalp, except for the leave out section at the front. Then we sew hair weft row by row over the braids so they can't be seen. The leave out section is laid over the top and blended with the extensions so the transition looks natural.

Only a small part of your own hair shows, while the rest lies braided and protected under the extensions. That's why a weave suits you if you're tired of styling your own hair, or if your hair is worn and needs a rest.

You can choose any texture

Because only a small part of your own hair shows, you can choose almost any texture for your extensions. If your hair is straight, you can go wavy – you simply style the leave out section to match.

Pros

  • The hair under the braids gets a break from heat, styling and daily wear
  • You can choose almost any texture for your extensions
  • Lots of volume and length in a single appointment
  • An even result, even if your own hair is uneven in length or density

Cons

  • Washing and drying your hair takes longer
  • Shampoo residue can get trapped in the braids, so rinse thoroughly
  • It may itch at first if you have a sensitive scalp

How the treatment works

1. Consultation

We talk through what you'd like to achieve, look at your hair type and scalp, and decide on amount, length and colour.

2. Braiding

Your hair is braided in soft, even rows close to the scalp. The braids should be secure but never tight – if anything feels tense, tell us straight away and we'll redo it on the spot.

3. Sewing

Hair weft is sewn in row by row until the hair is built up. No heat, no glue.

4. Cutting

The lengths are shaped and the leave out section blended in, so the hair falls softly and the style becomes yours.

5. Styling and care advice

We show you how to wash, brush and style, and book your next redo before you leave.

When we recommend something else

  • Your own hair is too short. The braids need length to hold on to. In that case Mesh is a better option.
  • A sore or irritated scalp. Then we wait.
  • You want more of your own hair to show. Then sew-in or micro weft is the right way to go.

Redo

A full weave is redone roughly every three months. Your own hair grows, the braids loosen, and the base needs to be done again. The extensions can be reinstalled many times.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a full weave last?

It's redone roughly every three months, once your own hair has grown out from the braids.

Will my own hair show?

Only the leave out section right at the front by your forehead. The rest lies braided under the extensions.

Can I choose a different texture from my own hair?

Yes. You simply style the leave out section to match the extensions.

Can the extensions be reused at the redo?

Yes, the extensions can be reinstalled many times until you decide you'd like to change.

How do I wash my hair with a full weave?

Rinse thoroughly so no shampoo residue is left in the braids, and let your hair dry completely right down to the base.
