Thinning hair isn't the same as hair loss, and it calls for a different solution. If you still have hair all over your head but it feels thin and sparse, a full wig is almost always more than you need. A hairpiece only covers the area that needs covering and is attached with clips to your own hair. It adds volume without you having to hide everything, and you can take it off whenever you like. The condition is that you have enough of your own hair to attach it to – which is the reason not to wait too long. If your own hair becomes so sparse that the clips can't grip, or your hairline has receded significantly, a men's wig is both easier and better-looking. You also avoid having to match the colour to hair that changes over time. This is the most common mistake with thinning hair: choosing a product with lots of density to compensate. The result is an obvious contrast with your own hair, and that's when it shows. Choose a density close to your own, or slightly above – never double. Clips that sit in exactly the same place every day wear on the hair. Move the attachment points a few centimetres at regular intervals and take the hairpiece off at night. Use gentle products from our hair care for wigs and hairpieces. It's hard to judge your own hair density.
