Mesh is the method for those with thin hair of their own. Instead of heat, glue or individual attachments, it works with a soft mesh that rests against the head – and therefore works when other methods are too heavy.
What is mesh?
A thin, airy net is placed close to the scalp and the hair extensions are tied through the net. Your own hair does not carry the weight strand by strand – it is distributed throughout the net. This is why the method works even when your own hair is sparse, fine or short.
Mesh for thin hair
This is the most common reason why our customers choose mesh. If your hair is naturally fine, or has thinned over the years, the problem with individual attachments is that each attachment is supported by a few strands. If there are too few, the attachment starts to pull.
With mesh, the weight is distributed throughout the entire mesh, and you can get volume without straining individual hairs. The method is also suitable for:
- Hair that has become thinner after pregnancy or a stressful period
- Alopecia and other forms of hair loss
- Hair that cannot withstand heat or chemicals
- Hair that needs a period of rest from styling and attachments
- Sensitive scalp, for example after a medical treatment
This is how the treatment works
1. The hair is parted
We divide the hair into fine sections, tailored to your hair type and how much volume you want.
2. The net is placed
The soft mesh is placed close to the scalp without pulling. It should feel light – if you feel any pressure during application, let us know immediately.
3. The hair extensions are tied in
The hair is tied in through the net, without glue or heat. The braiding makes the attachment stable but soft.
4. The hair is cut
Finally, the hair is cut towards your own and shaped to your hairstyle. This is the step that makes the transition disappear.
Wearing mesh
You can exercise, sleep and style as usual. Care is similar to other hair extensions: brush from the bottom up, wash with sulfate-free shampoo, apply conditioner to the lengths and not at the ends, and sleep with your hair in a loose braid. Our hair care packages work on both your own hair and extensions.
When something else is better suited
If you have full, healthy hair of your own and want maximum length, sew-in hair extensions or micro braids are usually a better choice. Mesh comes into its own where the hair or scalp needs to be protected. Compare all the options in our overview of hair extension methods .
